MAMA BLESSING A blessing way is a woman-centered celebration of the journey into motherhood. It differs from a baby shower in that it focuses on the femininity and power that comes with growing a baby and giving birth. These ceremonial traditions originate from the Navajo Native American Indian tribes & their sacred fertility rites. Gathering women in attendance together through sharing blessings or poems for the mother, singing or chanting, and symbolic rites such as smudging the space with burnt herbs, a red thread ceremony where everyone is connected to the mother with a thread which is worn then until the baby is born. These rituals create powerful energy and bonds between those that attend. . . It is always such an honor to host these beautiful events for Mamas, each one is unique.
